How it works
Everyone is shuffled once, then paired with the neighbour next to them in the shuffled order. That gives each possible pairing arrangement an equal chance.
Odd numbers of people
With an odd number of people, the tool never decides silently. You choose whether the last three become a group of three — the default, because it keeps everyone included — or whether one person is left unpaired and shown separately.
A name entered twice is treated as two people, so check the duplicate count if that is not intended.

- Can I stop two people being paired together?
- Not in this version. Keep-together and keep-apart rules change the odds and are deliberately left out for now.
